Free to Fantasize

It's football season...the most wonderful time of year for men across the nation.

It could also be seen as one of the most difficult stretches of time for females to clearly communicate with their significant others because of the attention that will be dedicated to the NFL and College Football.  With the start of the season comes a lot of traditions that we as fans have grown to love: tailgating, having beers and wings with the crew, friendly wagers on games and my personal favorite, fantasy football.

It's the biggest craze to attach itself to any professional sport ever. People take about as long as actual head football coaches to scout talent to draft with the season starting tonight. Heck, some of you may have even just gotten out of a draft before reading this...or possibly are headed a draft after you read this.

Either way, it's a phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. Personally, I encourage it. It'll help you become an even better fan than you were before. I've got three teams...and I'm looking forward to keeping up with all the games this year...even when I've got players competing against my Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But let's really talk sports here now.

The season is hours away and I'm making my pick for tonight's game...

Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos

The Super Bowl champions are on the road thanks to a scheduling conflict that put the Ravens and Orioles playing in the same vicinity on the same day. No matter, Joe Flacco and company return to the site of arguably their biggest game in the playoff run prior to the Super Bowl. Tonight, don't expect any Mile High Rainbows from the Ravens. But by all means, prepare yourself for a tight ball game. Still, I don't see the champs winning this one. If there's one thing Peyton Manning does well, it's the fact that he masks his team's weaknesses so well by being so productive when he's on the field. Expect the Colts...I mean the Broncos to win 31-24.
