While some say that the "confident" flanker allegedly has ties to gangs, there have been no true links to Jackson and gang affiliation. The word that Jackson's services would be available to a team had a few teams on high alert. Among those teams is the Washington Redskins. There are reports floating around saying that Jackson to the Redskins is almost a done deal.
Not that I wanted to see Jackson out of Philly, but somebody wasn't comfortable with what was being said about him...yet, they were comfortable with Riley Cooper spewing racist slurs at a concert. That's another blog for another day though. But if these reports are indeed true, I'd like to say that Jackson has really done himself and the Redskins a favor. Here's why.

You know who else is going to love it? Jackson. What better way to stick it to your former team than to play them twice in a year and burn them twice a year possibly costing them a shot at the division title. Nobody would love that more than Jackson.
By the way, giving Desean Jackson a chance to play for the Redskins gives the fans two games to look forward to and we all know how the league loves games that will bring big ratings. The league is really hoping this deal goes down. Most of you guys like watching NFC East football anyway. Most of you know someone who roots for each of those teams right now. Face it. If you're a football fan, you're more than likely going to watch that game.
Personally, I hate that the Eagles were afraid to keep Jackson over what seems to be some controversy, but you have to love the drama that will unfold if these reports come true. By the way, may I remind you that Jackson has never been arrested or suspended for anything under the league's personal conduct policy.

Yeah, I agree Emery. I'd love to see DJax in Washington. I think he would give the Redskins the kind of vertical threat they haven't had at their disposal since Santana Moss was in his prime.
I also think the move gives them arguably the best receiving corps in the NFC East with Jackson, Garcon, Andre Roberts and emerging TE Jordan Reed.
It will be interesting to see whether the Skins can get the deal done.
