For the most part, it gives fans like you and me a chance to see the NBA's greatest players (based on the votes of fans) come together and play in a defense-free exhibition to showcase their talents. I had no idea Miami wanted the All-Star Game to take place 82 more times in one season.

According to reports, the Miami Heat are targeting New York Knicks forward -- and one of Syracuse's favorite sons -- Carmelo Anthony as a possible piece to add to their roster. Should Melo decide to bring his talents to South Beach, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh would all have to opt out and take (yet another) pay cut to stay together.
I'm just curious. They still play basketball with one ball, right? You'd have four guys who are beyond capable of leading a team as the first scoring option. I don't know how they're going to do it or who's going to sacrifice their share of touches should Melo decide to come through, but it's something that doesn't look like it's going to work for 82 games.
Since all the talk about Carmelo possibly opting out, I've always believed he'd be a better fit in Chicago with Joakim Noah and a healthy Derrick Rose. Plus, whoever the Bulls draft would benefit from having those three together as well. Essentially, you'd have Miami's Big 4 and Jim, Bob and Joe on the bench because, quite frankly, who could you afford to play for the Heat.
