If you haven't heard about the biggest fight that boxing had to offer over the weekend, please share with me what type of rock you decided to live under during that time. Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio took center stage in Las Vegas as millions from around the world looked on.
It was a fight that promised to be worth the price of admission (or PPV purchase) early on. Then, Floyd decided to be Floyd. Picking his spots, Mayweather understood that there wasn't a true need to land a ton of punches. Instead, the motive was for Mayweather to make Manny miss. And it showed in the stats.
Pacquaio landed 19 percent of his punches. In case you haven't done the math, that means he missed 81 percent of the time he swung at Mayweather. It's like I said on Twitter and Instagram. You have to hit the head or the torso or all the punching in the world that's done won't matter. Manny didn't do that. And that's how Floyd won the fight. It's not how many punches you throw. It's what you land.
So, now that that's out of the way. Let's talk about Mayweather's next (and possibly final) fight. I don't mean who he's going to fight. I'm talking about who's going to buy it. It's not that Floyd isn't a brilliant fighter because he is. Rather, who is going to spend their hard earned money on this fight after what happened Saturday night? I mean, that was $100 bucks of hard earned money that is gone now without pure satisfaction for a lot of people.
After watching a 12-round clinic on how not to get hit, fans aren't interested in watching Mayweather play defense for 36 minutes. I'm pretty sure somebody has called their cable or satellite company saying their child order the fight "by accident" in an effort to get their money back.

So, I'm warning you. Save your money now. You're not going to see anything different from Floyd.
