LeBron's Return to Cleveland Sets Top Free Agents in Motion

Have you taken a moment to grasp the fact that LeBron James is going back to a place where many thought he may not have been welcomed as a professional basketball player ever again?

The kid from Akron announced today that he will be bringing his talents back to Northeast Ohio to rejoin the Cleveland Cavaliers. The move had the world all a buzz.

The way he announced to the world his new decision is arguably another blog for another time, but essentially one man's choice to return to the team that drafted nearly broke the Internet. That, in itself, is powerful. But it did more than that.

What LeBron James did was finally get the ball rolling for NBA Free Agency. Now, I know guys like Joel Anthony and Gordon Heyward already made their choices and what not, but let's be honest with ourselves. Were you really on the edge of your seat to figure out if Dallas would give Chandler Parsons a max deal?

No. You weren't.

Now that James is headed back to Cleveland (possibly to hang out with Johnny Manziel), we've now seen Chris Bosh opt to stay with the Miami Heat (for much more money I might add).  That now leaves two big targets in Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony....

Actually, that leaves one for me. I really think Wade goes back to Miami after reports surfaced that he has no interest in playing for the Chicago Bulls. That leaves Melo, who reported will either choose the Bulls or the Knicks.

As much as I hate to say it, it would have been interesting to see Melo and Kobe attempt to co-exist as Lakers. But Melo is a smart guy and he knows the best way to get to the Finals is to stay in the East. Even if LeBron is still there, his surrounding cast is young and has a few things to learn.

But wait...

There's still the possibility of Cleveland bringing in Mike Miller, Ray Allen, or possibly Kevin Love. No matter how you look at it, the chances of a Big 3 emerging in Cleveland are high.

Yesterday, I told you guys that LeBron and the rest of these guys essentially had us all hostage as we waited for his decision. I think we can now breathe a little easier now that this is pretty much behind us.

Let the real dealing begin...
