Thank God it's basketball season!
I usually like basketball, but the way football season has treated me this year...it couldn't have gotten here any sooner.
Recently, my good friend Jesef Williams tagged me in a photo that displayed his playoff projections for this season. It got a lot of us to thinking and my wheels have been turning a little faster now that the season is upon us.
I'm no genius or psychic, but it's always fun to try to determine who's coming out of the East and West for the NBA playoffs. Tonight, I give you my playoff projections. Don't judge me.
EASTERN CONFERENCE
- Cleveland Cavaliers
- Chicago Bulls
- Washington Wizards
- Toronto Raptors
- Charlotte Hornets
- Miami Heat
- Brooklyn Nets
- Atlanta Hawks
WESTERN CONFERENCE
- San Antonio Spurs
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Oklahoma City Thunder
- Golden State Warriors
- Portland Trailblazers
- Houston Rockets
- Dallas Mavericks
- Memphis Grizzlies
Now, I will say this. I'm not really thrilled with the Grizzlies at that 8 spot, but I'm not sure I see anyone stepping up to compete for it....maybe the Nuggets...maybe.
In the East, most of you guys who constantly read my blogs or follow me on social media for that matter know I love the Boston Celtics. No question about it. I like what they did this year in the draft, but I'm not sure our bigs are ready to take over and be a dominant force in the East with Rondo at the helm. I will say it will be interesting to see who else comes out of the East to take that playoff spot that the Indiana Pacers aren't going to have this year.
The Raptors will be an interesting team. The New York Knicks will be interesting as well...simply because consistency and health have been their two biggest factors to hinder them in past years. And let's not forget it's Derek Fisher's first year as a head coach (We see you, Fish.)
That said, the floor is now open for debate.
